I was one of Susanas first domiciliary customers. She works with great confidence and to the highest standard. I feel like I am walking on air after every appointment.

I called Susana with an emergency and she managed to fit me in on the same day. She fixed an ingrown nail Ive had a problem with for some times. I can now walk without pain. Thank you Susana!

Diabetic Foot Care

Associated foot problems can occur when you have diabetes, it is important to ensure that you take proper care of your legs and feet. In some diabetics this can lead to:

- Nerve damage in the feet and legs that may result in a loss of sensation, pins and needle or possible numbness and burning sensations. This is called neuropathy.

- If the blood supply to the feet and legs are reduced this will result in cold, painful feet.
I  will take good care of your feet regularly keeping a close eye on all the necessary concerning factors with a diabetic foot.

I can help you with regular vascular checks and sensory tests, I will ensure your nails are kept short and clean and always give advice on how to manage your feet between visits.

Foot Care advice

As well as maintain healthy feet as outlined in our simple guide, diabetics should follow these guidelines:

1.  Never walk barefoot as this may lead to cuts and damage to the skin.
2.  Never sit cross legged as this will further reduce circulation to your feet
3.  Always ensure you wear suitable, well fitted footwear. Shoes which do not fit can cause corns and callouses and increase your risk of infection.
4.  Do not smoke! This will further reduce blood circulation.
5.  Consult your foot health practitioner if you notice any breaks, sores, swelling or redness to the skin.
6.  ALWAYS seek professional treatment. Do not attempt to home treat.
